The Grow Party
Come for the garden. Leave thinking differently.
The Grow Party is a two-hour, hands-on gathering filled with planting, reflection, conversation, laughter, snacks, and meaningful connection.
It is designed for people who love plants, people who are learning plants, and people whose plants have historically had very short life expectancies.

Learn it. Talk about it. Put your hands to it.
The lesson is built around plants, but the conversation is usually about much more than plants.
Think Like A Plant™
Eileen guides the group through practical garden principles and the surprisingly human lessons hiding inside roots, soil, timing, care, patience, and growth.
Learn by doing
Depending on the specific party experience, Eileen brings the planting supplies—including grow bags, holders, soil, seeds, folders, and lesson preparation needed for the hands-on portion.
Talk, laugh, connect
This is not a silent workshop. Questions are welcome. Stories happen. People compare plant disasters. Someone usually realizes gardening has been teaching them something about life without asking permission.
What leaves with you?
🌱 Seeds
Every standard public ticket includes a seed pack so something can keep growing after the party is over.
📁 The lesson
Your folder and teaching materials help you remember the practical garden information and the reflection behind it.
💚 A different perspective
The goal is not just knowing more about a plant. It is noticing what growth, patience, rest, and care might be saying about everything else.
All ages. All levels of plant confidence.
You do not have to earn the word “gardener” before you come.
- Adults who have always wanted to grow something.
- Families who want a meaningful shared experience.
- Children who learn best by doing and asking questions.
- Garden beginners who want practical information without intimidation.
- Experienced growers who enjoy plants, people, and conversation.
- Anyone who once killed a plant and is willing to try again.
Children are welcome at public Grow Parties and will have a kid-friendly snack option available.
Growing things works up an appetite.
Every standard public Grow Party includes a light snack tray.
The exact assortment can vary, but the standard spread is intentionally simple, easy to enjoy during conversation, and appropriate for the setting.
A typical tray may include:
- Crackers
- Fresh vegetables with dip
- Cheese
- Kid-friendly snack packs for younger guests
If you have an allergy or dietary concern, review the Eventbrite listing and contact RootsOMG before attending so we can tell you what is planned for that specific event.
What should I bring?
🧤 Dress comfortably
If the scheduled event includes hands-on planting, wear something you do not mind getting a little dirty.
🥤 Bring your preferred drink
Snacks are included. Venue-specific beverage information will be listed on Eventbrite, especially when a Grow Party is hosted by a coffee shop.
🌿 Bring curiosity
Supplies and lesson preparation are handled by RootsOMG. You do not need to arrive with gardening tools or prior experience unless the Eventbrite listing specifically says otherwise.
Meet Eileen Colette
Gardener. Author. Nurse. Songwriter. Professional observer of the strange things plants teach people.
Eileen created RootsOMG around the idea that gardens develop into life lessons.
Her teaching is practical enough to help you grow something and reflective enough to make you wonder what else may be taking root.
You will not be quizzed on plant names. Nobody is inspecting your previous gardening record.
